Early Start to Summer...
Hey kids,
So here we are in the second week of June and I am now in my third week of summer vacation?!?!?!?!
Since our school board decided they wanted semester to end prior to the winter break, we now start school the second week of AUGUST!!!!! and end the third week of May.
I am currently working with the Loveland Sports Day Camp, run by our local swim club. I am in charge of cleaning up their swim lesson portion of the camp, once a day 1-1:30pm. Then I head into the gym and run basketball and volleyball.
Working with elementary kids hurts my head, I have had to totally change the way I interact with the kids when giving instructions and waiting for their attention.....
We have been out on Boyd Lake about 5-6 times, with our friend Ben Wells. he and his wife own a 3 person Sea Doo and we have recently picked up wake skating.... basically wakeboarding, but the board doesn't have bindings.
It has been a blast..... literally, I ate it the other day when I didn't hold the edge and it rode on the flat part of the board and was like ice, I fell back and got a blast o'water up the rear exit!!!!
Heather has also finally gotten in the water, she generally has a rule of thumb that states that she does not go in water that is below 75' degrees. However the water temp was 69'-70' so she gave it a run and got up after one try.
Our friend Amon is thankfully taking a look over a couple of older boats his parents own and we are going to have a baot cleaning party Sunday to try and get on of those up and running. That way we can chill on the lake, ride the Sea Doos and wakeboard.
Now just a quick note on 3 person Sea Doos..... They are big, they are fun, and they can pull a 230lb guy out of the water and still hit 30+ while he is up. While doing so, one person drives, the other person sits backwards and spots. Fun.... after the first couple of times.
The odd part is getting out to where you are going to start pulling. You have to ride together, and no matter how good of friends you are, still a little weird.
This weekend, gathering Friday night for a friend's birthday, gathering Saturday for a friend's housewarming, and a gathering for Ben's wife Sarah, who is heading to Wyoming for the summer to run a Girl Scouts Camp, Boat cleaning Sunday..... whew..... busy.
Love ya' all
