2009 Holiday Season...

As always Camp Fristed was in full swing for the holiday season and we were visited by our Holiday Regular Brice.

We have received a fair bit of snow already this year, most in recent history this early, but upon Brice's arrival our snow on the ground had been melting.

I was scheduled to head to the airport on Wed midday to pick up Brice an
d bring him on back to the house. To do so, Heather and I had to trade vehicles, as mine is not registered in Colorado yet (ya ya ya... it is registered through 2011 in Oregon.) To go on the Toll Roads here you now can just cruise through and they bill you based on your license plate address.

Well low and behold we begin to have a full on downfall of snow... like 6 inches from the time we went to bed Tuesday and woke up Wednesday?!?!?!? AND it was STILL SNOWING!!!!

Now I love the truck, but driving it down I-25, Colorado's idea of a freeway, is like asking me to run full speed into a concrete wall.... AND it was STILL SNOWING!!!!

So I arranged for Brice to take the Super Shuttle from the airport to Loveland.... whew!!!

We opened a gift from a new friend who knew we are Charger fans and Heather got a sideline Charger beanie and Brice and I got Charger...uh...er...hunter style hats with fleece on the inside and ear flaps... which were perfect because Brice and I went in the hot tub and it was snowing......WAY BELOW FREEZING and windy!!!!

Christmas Eve Day went and saw Avatar in 3-D and......... WOW!!! Awesome!!! The colors and the 3-d were sooooooo much fun!!!
When we got there Brice and I arrived early to make sure we got tickets and good seats.... the only people in front of us were to little girls and there mom. I asked the girls what they were gonna see and the little one, about 4-5 yrs old, with a stuffed up and runny nose says... "Awvin and the Chwipmunnnks da' Sqweequal" Brice and I almost fell over laughing she was so cute :)

Christmas Day I woke up early and ran downstairs like a 6 yr old..... and played video games til the rest of the household got up. We all played in our stockings and had a mimosa.... or two.... or three.... we started breakfast, Heather made quiche, then we headed to the hot tub for a Christmas soak. A little bit of snow was still falling, it was excellent.

Headed in for a great Christmas Day.

Dec. 26th watched some football, and went and saw Sherlock Holmes.

That Sunday we had invited some of the normal Loveland Crew... Kayli, Brock and Amon to come on over and play Campus Golf. Now I know we are not at a Campus, but we turned into Campus Golf starring the Neighborhood. The game is played with each player having one golf club... I find the 6 or 7 iron to be the best and a labeled tennis ball. Tee time was set for 11am and Amon was bringing the clubs for us to share.... however during the snow one of Amo
n's plowers threw a track and he didn't get to the course, or neighborhood, until almost 3pm. So in the meantime we played Wii and decorated our tennis balls with different colored Sharpies.

Heather, Brice and I dressed in our Country
Club Golf Apparel and all us kids headed out to the course.
Amon didn't know were we dressing Country Club, but luckily had his softball pants in the truck and threw those on.

The holes were our community mailboxes, lightposts, fire hydrants etc....

First shot Amon loses his ball in a snow pile..... and we could not find it!!! Oh ya' did I mention we had been adult beveraging the whole time waiting for Amon... about 4 hours!!!

A few shots later Amon has to go to one of our neighbors and ask if he can go in their backyard to find his OTHER tennis ball.

One of my neighbors drove by and really wanted to play, but had to go to work. Three shots later Brice drills a truck in someone's driveway.

An elderly gentleman and his wife, obviously headed to the adult children's house, drive by concerned we were gonna do something BAD. Then 5 minutes later came out side to watch with a smile on his face.

Heather, or someone, sent her ball into the private property at the end of the street and I had to hitch up the barbed wire while she ducked under.

Someone hit a garage door and someone came out of the house wondering what the heck hit the house. I think someone hit a window, but nothing happened.

Let's just say it was a BLAST!!!! We had to head in quick because it was dark, and COLD!!!!

Holidays are so much fun.
